SMBSXSW Road Trip: Kansas City
Friday, March 12, 2010 at 7:49AM A Couple of guys (Rick Mahn & Albert Maruggi) on a road trip to the largest social media geekfest in the country (SXSW) came through Kansas City Thursday to meet some SM enthusiasts and discuss mobile.
The tweetup was held at the Kansas City Cafe and if you want the whole kitten kaboodle, all the content over at the SMCKC site.
The group was diverse in career and useage of the various technology, but everyone was there to learn and discuss.
Rick & Albert were great. Like conversation ninjas, they would quickly begin a discussion and then back away from it allowing the group to finish their thoughts and create new ones with ease.
My thanks to the guys for making it out here to chat it up and also for SMCKC for organizing it quickly.
And to Lisa Qualls, Round 2 of corporate experimintation in social media conversation will happen at a happy hour very soon!
I took some video that you can check out below, which gave me a great excuse to use my new Sony Webbie HD cam. So far I'm happy with both video/audio quality.
Check out some of the highlights:

Looks and sounds good--I've been thinking about this camera or the Kodak Z18. Which Sony Webbie HD cam do you have? Although I hear there's a new FlipCam coming out. 1080p maybe?
The main reason that I went to sony instead of Flip was the ability to flip the lens 180 degrees. It allows me to see myself when I'm recording, which improves my shots of myself by about 75%. It was only around $80, so I didn't have to take another mortgage for it. 1080pm would be great though, so we'll see what comes out next :)
