My First Go at Dry Ribs

I've always wanted to sink my teeth into some Tennessee dry ribs, but they're hard to find here in KC. Ribs here are smoked low and slow and usually are soaked in sweet sauce. It's a style that I absolutely love, but still was curious about the tang from the apple vinegar and the more firm "stick to the bone" ribs popular in Memphis.

Thanks to my good friend Greg Metz for putting up his recipe for dry ribs fixed right on the grille. It takes about an hour and you really have to baby the grill, flipping and juicing the thing every 5 minutes or so. Turned out really good and you can grab his recipe for your own backyard grilling enjoyment over at his blog.

An LA Times photographer captured a pretty cool shot of Zach last week when he picked up a resemblance to Booze fueled ultra-man legend, writer Erny Hemingway.

Nerd Geek Dork

Nerds didn't use to be cool, but in the 90's that all changed. Now, the intelligent and geeky have eked out for themselves a modicum of respect at the very least, and "geek is chic." The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent, knowledgable and always the person to call in a crisis (needing computer advice/an arcane bit of trivia knowledge).
